Why Maple Plain

Our next-door neighbor on Highway 12

Maple Plain is a small city in western Hennepin County, right on U.S. Highway 12, with Independence to the west and Lake Independence just to the north. Baker Park Reserve borders the city, and Pioneer Creek runs through its northwest corner. The town takes its name from the big maples of the Big Woods that early settlers noticed for their fall color.

Settlers arrived in 1854, the railroad came through in 1868–1869, and the village was incorporated in 1912. The population grew from 754 in 1960 to 2,005 in 1990 and was 1,743 at the 2020 census. From our base in Delano, it’s about a 10-minute drive east on Highway 12.

Hard water, and how we work around it

Maple Plain’s city water measures about 18.6 grains of hardness, so sprinkler overspray and hose water can leave white mineral spots on glass. Our water-fed poles use purified water, so the panes dry clear, and built-up spots can be handled with hard-water stain removal, quoted after we see the glass.

A town named for its trees

Fall leaves and spring seeds end up in the gutters, and a clog can send water over the edge and down the windows. We clear the gutters, run water through every downspout to make sure it drains, and send you a photo report when we’re done.

Screens and tracks, old windows and new

Whether your home is one of the older ones near downtown or a newer build, window tracks collect grit and screens hold dust. Our track detailing cleans out the channels, and if you add screen cleaning, we remove each screen, wash both sides and the frame by hand, and return it to its own window.

Questions

Maple Plain window cleaning FAQs

How often do you recommend cleaning windows in Maple Plain?
Four times a year keeps the glass at its best through every Minnesota season. The minimum we’d suggest is twice a year, in late spring after the pollen and in early fall before the cold sets in.
Do you also serve homes just outside Maple Plain’s city limits?
Yes. We’re based in Delano, just up Highway 12, so homes in and around Maple Plain are close to home for us. Inside or out, one story or three, we’ll quote whatever glass you’d like cleaned.
White spots keep showing up where my sprinklers hit the windows. What can you do?
Those spots are minerals left behind when hard water dries on glass, and Maple Plain’s water is on the hard side. Once they build up, they need hard-water stain removal, which we quote on its own after seeing the glass. Our regular cleanings won’t add more, since the water in our poles is purified, and keeping the spray off the windows stops new spots from forming.
How is a Maple Plain quote priced?
Quotes cost nothing and come with no obligation. Give us a call at (763) 314-3400 or fill out the quote form. The number depends on the home’s size, its window count and how tricky the glass is to reach, and it’s the full price, agreed before we start.
