Why Chaska

A brick-making river town that kept on growing

Chaska is the county seat of Carver County, with its downtown sitting on the Minnesota River. Clay deposits started a brick industry here in 1857, and cream-colored Chaska brick went into buildings across the Twin Cities. Three of the old clayholes, filled by natural springs, are now part of the downtown parks.

Census counts show how far the city has come: 2,501 residents in 1960, 17,449 in 2000 and 27,810 in 2020. Much of that growth started with Jonathan, a planned community begun in the late 1960s. From our base in Delano, it’s a little over half an hour to Chaska.

Hard water, by the city’s own numbers

Chaska’s tap water is drawn from deep aquifers and it’s hard: the city suggests setting home softeners to 29 grains per gallon. When that water lands on glass from sprinklers or a hose and dries, it can leave white mineral spots. Our water-fed poles use purified water, so a regular cleaning dries clear without adding more.

Jonathan’s ravines and trails

The original Jonathan neighborhoods are still going strong, now wrapped in newer housing and a system of ravines and trails. Homes near the green space get great views, and their windows and screens collect the pollen, dust and debris that come with it. Screen cleaning means we remove each screen, wash both sides and the frame by hand, and return it to its own window.

Older homes, older tracks

Plenty of Chaska homes have been around since the city’s growth took off decades ago, and so have their windows. Years of use pack grit into the tracks until windows stick. Our track detailing cleans out the channels so they slide the way they should.

Questions

Chaska window cleaning FAQs

How often do you recommend cleaning windows in Chaska?
Every three months is ideal, since that keeps up with spring pollen, summer sprinklers and fall leaves. At the very least, book a cleaning in late spring and another in early fall.
Chaska’s water is hard. Will that leave spots on my windows?
Not from us. The water in our poles is purified, so it dries without leaving minerals behind. Spots that are already baked on from sprinklers or a hose need hard-water stain removal, which we quote on its own after seeing the glass, and keeping the spray off the windows stops new ones from forming.
Do you work all over Chaska?
Yes. Downtown near the river, Jonathan, and the newer neighborhoods around them are all in our service area. Inside or out, one story or three, we’ll quote whatever glass you’d like cleaned.
How is a Chaska quote priced?
Getting a quote is free, with no commitment. Reach us at (763) 314-3400 or through the quote form. Your price comes down to the size of the house, how many windows there are and how hard they are to reach, and you’ll have the complete number before we begin.
